Dream Delving

Dreams have meaning in our lives.  It is believed dreams come from our subconscience; an involuntary reasoning of our lives.  Freud had such a fascination with dreams that he sought to interpret them.  I find dream interpretation an interesting science.  My favorite dream book is  10,000 Dreams Interpreted by Pamela Ball, who offers three different interpretations; the conventional, the psychological and the spiritual.  I dreamt of a trip.

DESTINATION: "It is fairly common to dream of trying to get to a particular destination, and this would normally indicate a conscience ambition and desire.  If the destination is not known to us we may be moving into unknown territory, or be attempting something new and different.  Destinations such as exotic and faraway places could signify our need for stimulation, or hopes we may have for the future.  A Spiritual goal or aspiration is signified in dreams by knowing what our destination is."

Words of Wonder

"Women are made to be loved, not understood."

"Well behaved women rarely make history."

                                        ~ Oscar Wilde

Soul Searching

Excerpts from The Invitation, a poem by Oriah Mountain Dreamer....

"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.                                                                                 It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive."

Fashion Passion

The art of accessories according to Coco Chanel: "Take off one piece of jewelry before you leave the house."  Just remember, this is the designer who draped her suits in miles of chain and pearls.  Layering jewelry is trendy again, but you need to consider color blending, balance and overall effect.  Too many busy pieces compete and confuse, suffocating style.  Chanel's chains and pearls are timeless.  Bold jewelry can be very classy.

The baubles a woman owns can reveal an intimate side of her personality.  Artist and author Viki Lareau believes, "...jewelry-buying is based on emotion and connection....--they [women] buy it based on how they feel."  I have, on several occasions, felt my heart melt at a delicate wonder on wire, or been bitten by the brilliance of a crystal creation.  I adore semi-precious gems; the mixed hues of nature, and stones that feel cool on bare skin.  Slip on a piece of art and feel transported.  Honor the goddess in you; make an impression.   Imagine Cleopatra without her jewels...not as pretty a picture!
